CONNECT COMMAND
ALARM WARNING NODE 2 OLDNAME Wed 19-Feb-03 08:55:42

CONNECT [Nx]CyPz is equivalent to the command

SET [Nx]CyPz ENABLE.
CONNECT [Nx]CxPy [Nu]CvPw is equivalent to the commands
SET [Nx]CyPz DEST [Nu]CvPw and SET [Nx]CyPz ENABLE
(This is also true for GS ports specified in the form [Nx]CyVz)

Any two ports in the network may be connected provided:

1. Both ports are of similar port type.
2. Both ports have the same baud rate.
3. One port must be an ORIGINATE or BOTH port.
4. One port must be a ANSWER or BOTH port.
5. The destination port's restrictions must permit
the connection.
Trunks and groups may also be connected.
CONNECT [Nx]CxTy enables that trunk.

TIEP
ALARM WARNING NODE 2 OLDNAME Wed 19-Feb-03 08:56:58

Connect Packet objects as follows:

For Voice or BOP the port connect command is
CONNECT [Nx]CyPz or CONNECT <port_name> or CONNECT .
For Frame Relay channels the connect command is
CONNECT [Nx]CyPzDw or CONNECT <channel_name> or CONNECT .
For Trunks the connect command is
CONNECT [Nx]Ty or CONNECT .

When connecting two channels or ports the following criteria must hold:
1. Neither of the channels are already connected
2. Both channels are using the same protocol
3. The originating channel is configured as originate or bothway
4. The destination channel is configured as answer or bothway
5. There is sufficient capacity for the call to take place
