t e a c h e r- c e n t e r e d . R e c e n t l y, h o w e v e r, p h y s i c a l e d u c a t i o n i n s t r u c t o r s h a v e
shown deepening interest in learning-oriented and student-centered
approaches, which often fall under the umbrella concept of constructivism.
The rubrics-scored post-test was designed to determine the masterful and
accurate execution of arnis. Both experimental and control groups earned
“ Ve r y H i g h ” m e a n s c o r e s , i n d i c a t i n g c o m p a r a b l e l e v e l s o f p o s t - i n s t r u c t i o n
s t u d e n t p e r f o r m a n c e . N o s i g n i f i c a n t d i ff e r e n c e w a s f o u n d b e t w e e n t h e
lecture-method and self-instructional module method. The study found that
t h e s e l f - i n s t r u c t i o n a l m o d u l e m e t h o d w a s j u s t a s e ff e c t i v e a s t h e l e c t u r e - d e m o
method in the teaching of arnis.
