• Rule 4: was / were supposed to ( talk about past ) PAsT
• I was supposed to get married the last year.  Victor was supposed to have  great parties last year.
• **** was /were going to ( intented to/tried to)  PAST
• I was going to take photograph classes , but I couldn't. 
• Javier and his friends were going to a party the last August but they coudln't arrange it at the end.  Carlos and his friends were going to
the beach the last year, but they couldn't as the pandemic started.
