What is an Academic Debate?
How Can we Define it?
 A Debate: is discussion about a certain topic reaching a common ground
between two opposing sides. The debate topic has generally two sides, one
positive (affirmative) and the other one negative.

 Academic debate: is a formal and


disciplined form of arguing toward a
person or team of people. The
essential part of any debate is the
creation of good and effective
arguments.
