REALITY
The issue of environmental pollution in
Vietnam is a hot and severe topic. So many
domestic and international newspapers
mention that this problem is extremely
serious and at an alarming level. Especially,
water pollution is the most significant issues,
even the statistics show that Vietnam
becomes one of the leading countries
causing the most serious pollution in the
world.
DEFINITION OF WATER POLLUTION.
Water pollution is any chemical, biological, or physical change in water
bodies (lakes, rivers, oceans, aquifers and groundwater) that harmful
influent in living organisms or that makes water unusable for desired uses.
Additionally, water pollution may consist of chemicals introduced into the
water bodies as a result of various human activities.

 EFFECTS OF WATER CONTAMINATION
Destroying the biodiversity: Water pollution depletes aquatic ecosystems and triggers uncontrolled
proliferation of phytoplankton in lakes.
Contamination of the food chain: Fishing in polluted waters and the use of waste water for livestock
farming and agriculture can introduce toxins into foods which are harmful to our health when eaten.
Lack of potable water: The UN says that billions of people around the world have no access to clean water
to drink or sanitation, particularly in rural areas.
Disease: The WHO estimates that about 2 billion people have no option but to drink water contaminated
by excrement, exposing them to a plenty of diseases.

To deal with this problem, both Vietnam Government and citizen should
work together. Here are 3 effective solutions to water pollution:
1. Practice responsible use of fertilizer, herbicides, and pesticides

The simplest solution for water pollution
prevention is to be responsible with any chemical
use:
- Read and explicitly follow the directions for using.
- Prevent spills
- Dispose of the old chemicals and container
properly per the product instructions.
- Do not apply near water systems such as wells,
streams, lakes, or drains.

To deal with this problem, both Vietnam Government and citizen should
work together. Here are 3 effective solutions to water pollution:

REDUCE your plastic footprint. Cut down on your
consumption of goods that contain excessive plastic
packaging and parts. If it will leave behind plastic trash, don’t
buy it.
REUSE durable, non-toxic straws, to-go containers, bottles,
bags, and other everyday items. Choose glass, paper,
stainless steel straws, wood, ceramic and bamboo over
plastic.
RECYCLE what you can’t refuse, reduce or reuse. Pay
attention to the entire life cycle of items you bring into
your life, from source to manufacturing to distribution to
disposal.

 CONCLUSION
Water is an essential source of human and eco-system. People and creature cannot
live without water because water plays a very important role in people health and
their daily activities. Therefore not only the Government tries to against water
pollution but also citizen should contribute to this campaign. And people should be
raise aware of surrounding throughout propaganda about it and together save
environment to protect our life.
