EYES: THE ORGANS OF
SIGHT
The eyes are protected by your eyebrows,
eyelashes, and eyelids.
Eyebrows prevent water or sweat from
entering your eyes.
Eyelashes protect your eyes from dust.
Eyelids protect your eyes from insects,
dust or too much light.

It is on the top of the mucous membrane that
sends messages to the brain.
SKIN: THE ORGAN OF TOUCH

It is the largest organ in your body. It covers


and protects your body. It allows you to feel
objects that are:
-rough or smooth -moist or dry
-hard or soft -scaly or cottony
-slimy or sticky -hot or cold
Texture Soft, scaly, moist ,dry ,sticky or slimy

Temperature Hot or cold

Pain Wounds causes pain.

How to Take Care of Your Eyes
• Always read or write in a well-lighted room.
• Rest your eyes by closing them for a few minutes in
between reading.
• Avoid reading inside a moving car.
• Do not lie down while reading.
• Protect your eyes from bright sunlight by wearing
sunglasses.
• Do not spend so much time in front of your computer
screen.
• Avoid holding pointed objects near your eyes.
• Visit your doctor for a check up at least once a year.
How to Take Care of Your ears

• Avoid listening to loud music. Stay away from noisy


places and turn down the volume of your radio,
television or headphones.
• Do not put any hard or sharp objects into your
ears.
• Use soft cloth or cotton swabs to clean your outer
ears.
• Be careful when swimming or taking a bath.
• If an object gets inside your ears, ask a doctor to
remove it.
How to Take Care of Your tongue

• Avoid taking in very hot or very cold


food.
• Chew your food slowly and carefully to
avoid biting your tongue.
• Brush the surface of your tongue as
your Brush your teeth. Use tongue
scrubber.
How to Take Care of Your nose

• Clean your nose daily using clean,


moist and soft cloth or tissue paper.
• Avoid blowing your nose too hard
when you have a cold.
• Visit a doctor if you have nose
problems
How to Take Care of Your skin
• Take a bath regularly. Use clean towels and fresh
clothes after bathing.
• Wash your hands properly using a mild soap.
• Wash cuts and wounds to avoid infections
• Have a balance diet to keep your skin glowing
and healthy.

• Use moisturizing lotion or cream.
• Use sunblock when going to the beach.
Basic Needs of Human Beings

Human beings need


food, water, exercise,
rest and sleep, shelter
and clothing.
FOOD AND WATER
Food and water makes your body strong
and healthy.
Drinking 8 glasses of water every day will
keep you away from getting dehydrated.

A balance diet contains of carbohydrates,


fats, proteins, vitamins and minerals and
water in a correct portions.
When you prepare or eat meal, use
the food pyramid below as guide.

weather and activities that you do.
