BRAIN

It is the control center

of your body. It sends
information to other
parts of your body.
Parts of the Brain

Cerebrum

Cerebellum

Medulla
Parts of the Brain
Cerebrum
Parts of the Brain
cerebellum
It receives sensory
impulses from the muscle
and joints. It controls,
balance, posture and
coordination.
Parts of the Brain
medulla
Cranium/ Skull
It protects the brain. It is
composed of cells called
neurons, which carry electrical
signals called the impulses.
Spinal Cord
Heart

The heart is a muscular organ that

pumps blood throughout the body.

It is divided into four chambers:

Two ventricles left & right ventricle
Chambers of left atrium

the heart
right atrium
left ventricle

rightventricle
Lungs

Breathing is made
possible by the lungs. It
provides oxygen to the
heart and other organs.
organs of the lungs

alveoli are where the lungs and the

bronchi blood exchange air during
trachea
bronchioles breathing.
lung
tissue diaphragm is a thin dome- shape
muscle underneath the lungs. It
contracts and flattens when you
inhale.

diaphragm alveoli
Peristalsis is muscle contractions
that move food through the
esophagus and stomach.

stomach receives food from the

esophagus. The stomach secretes
acid and enzymes that digest
food.

Chyme are partially digested

food.
Kidney

Kidney are important organs

that filter out waste
products from the blood and
control water content of the
blood.
The two kidneys contain
nephrons, which are tiny tubes
with capsule on one passing
end.

waste products are removed

from the blood as it passes
through nephrons.
Kidneys remove liquid waste composed
of Urea, excess water, and other
toxic substances from the blood.

The fluid that remains is called Urine.

It is carried to the urinary bladder
through the ureter.

Urinary Bladder is a sack-like organ

that stores the urine.

Urine is excreted from the body

through Urethra.
Parts of the Bones
The point where two or more
bones connected is the joint,
it allows your body to move
muscles to contract.

Some joints allow a lot of

movement, while other joints
are fixed.
Muscle
Muscles allow a person to
move, speak, and chew. They
control heartbeat, breathing,
and digestion.
Function of Skeletal muscle are attached to
bones for movement and help protect
Muscles inner organs.

Smooth muscle are found in internal

organs, they help in movement of
food. Also found in blood vessels,
helps in the movement of blood cells.

Cardiac muscles are found in the

heart and cause the heart to beat.
BODY CELLS

3.

SKIN RED BLOOD BONE CELLS MUSCLE CELLS

CELLS CELLS
CELLS FORM
TISSUE
group of cells found in the parts
of your body are called Tissue.

4 Main types of Tissue:

Epithelial Connective
muscle nervous
Epithelial This consist of packed
cells that form
Tissue surface covering, such
as the layer of your
skin. It covers and
protects inner tissue.
They join, support,
Connective protect, insulate,
nourish and cushion the
Tissue body organs and keeps
them from falling
apart.

Ex: Bones & ligaments

Muscle Tissue It is made up of cells
that can contract and
relax to produce
movement.
Nervous Tissue It sends electrical
signals to your body. It
is found in your brain,
nerves and sense
organs
Organs form system of
the body
Organs working together make up an
organ system. Humans and other
organisms are made up of several
organ systems.
