Classifications
• Kellgren and Lawrence – radiological
1. Osteophytic lipping
2. Narrowed joint space with definite osteophytes
3. Subchondral sclerosis with marked narrowing
4. Subchondral cysts with no space and deformity
Diagnostics
• Instability – collaterals and crutiates
• ROM and locking – osteophytes and meniscus
• Starting , activity , rest – grade of OA
• Swelling – RA, meniscus ,
• History to find out etiology of OA
Views
• Rosenberg view 30 degree in flexion – for Lateral compartment
• True AP view for Medial compartment
• Tunnel view for osteochondral defects
Latest advancements
• B4 and B5 portal block together
• 0.5% lignocaine 5ml
• 1ml of steroid
• 30mg of clonidine
Exercises for knee pain – done by 3rd party
• Keep in prone position and give traction and rotate 5 x 3
• Keep in Ant drawer test and do it ten times 15 x 3
