INTRODUCTION
 Plastic is one such commodity that has been so extensively used and is
sometimes referred to as one of the greatest innovations of the previous
century.
 There are a numerous ways in which plastic is and will continue to be used.
 Use of plastic is extensive due to fact that it is chemical resistant and light
weight. In the recent years plastic waste are turning out to be a serious
problem as plastics are non biodegradable in nature.
 Days are not so far when earth will be completely contaminated with
plastics waste.
 As petroleum reservoirs are depleting at a fast rate due to the growth of
population and the subsequent energy utilization, an urgent need for search
for a renewable alternative fuel arise.
 The most important point that we have not realised is that there is a
scope for production of fuel oil from the plastic scrap.

 The disposal and degradability of plastics has been an issue which has
caused a number of research works to be carried out in this regard.

 Currently the disposal methods employed are land filling, mechanical

recycling, biological recycling, thermal recycling, and chemical
recycling.

 This project is mainly based upon grades and properties of plastics by

which Crude oils are obtained by melting and condensation of gases
from plastics.
OBJECTIVES

 To modify an experimental setup.

 Generate petroleum products and thus to condense petroleum products
in efficient and effective way.
 To extract maximum hydrocarbon products as oil vapour, heavy oil etc.
from the scrap plastics, by thermal and catalytic cracking process.
RAW MATERIAL
LITERATURE SURVEY

 Research is also into developing / extracting oils through other means

like extraction of oils from waste plastics.
 According to A. R. Patil, S. G. Taji, The oil extracted from waste
plastics could be a solution to most of the environmental problems that
humans and the nature are facing today. In their work the use of waste
plastics has been undertaken to convert plastics into the fuel oil and to
further use it as an alternative fuel.
METHODOLOGY

ADVANTAGES

 Reduce the accumulation of waste plastic as a environmental

pollution.
 Alternative for fuels.
 Less skilled personnel required.
 It coagulate the necessity of fossil fuels.
 It is easily available.
