PLATFORM FOR
ARTISTS

Presented by
Group 6
• Artists, especially in India lack a platform that can host their services
and display the products to the customers.

• Our website aims to provide a stage to both budding and experienced

artists to help reach out to the customers and provide services.

• Through this, the customer can browse through the previous works
of a certain artist and commission them to create a new personalized
artwork for the customer.

• According to Livemint, the Indian art market is estimated to be

valued at Rs. 14.6 billion in 2017. For a similar company, ETSY,
centered mainly in the US and Australia, has a seller userbase of 4.3
million.

MOTIVATION
• With the amount of amateur and professional artists in India, the
potential userbase could be far larger than that of ETSY.

2
• To create a viable platform that groups various artists across the country and
displays their work for the customers to procure their services.

• This is a blue ocean strategy scenario as the any competition is practically non-existent

• The market we would be broadly addressing is the upper middle class and high income
groups, as artistry is usually a niche market.

• Market segmentation of the buyers, has to be performed into various categories like the
income groups, age, gender, location.

• A survey also has to be performed to gain the data on potential sellers using the
website, their location, preference of art medium, type of art they perform.

• Another important aspect that needs to be addressed is the payment for the service,
which is before or after the delivery of the product. Amateur and small artists can be
provided an option to have the payment before the delivery, whereas more established
PROBLEM
artists can have an option to take the payment after the delivery of the product. STATEMENT

POSSIBLE CHALLENGES

• Competition: Many new entrants may enter into same market, which can represent less revenue and profit
for the company.

• Unique products: Sometimes due to the nature of the products being shipped, shortages and delays could
happen.

• Technology: Continuous Research and development, Upgradation

• Shipping: as the website operates across the country, handling and shipping the product could pose
problems and should be handled carefully. Due to the nature of the products that would be shipped, the
shipping could face delays.

• Guarantee: the concept of our website includes arts and crafts but the customers frequently do not know if
these items are authentic or not. Hence, the organization itself has to make sure of the authenticity of the
seller.

• Online threats: The whole business is set up online, and no website is completely invulnerable to hackers
or viruses, and that can put the business at risk.
