BASIC RIGHTS OF MAN

◦ THESE RIGHTS ARE LIBERTY, PROPERTY, SECURITY, AND


RESISTANCE TO OPPRESION.
THE HUMAN PEOPLES RIGHTS
DECLARATION OF THE PHILIPPINES.
◦ We have the right to life, liberty, security and property. We
have the right to a transparent, credible, competent and
impartial justice system, free from influence and
corruption, where wrongs are redressed and justice is
dispensed fairly, speedily and equitably .
WHAT ARE THE RIGHTS OF MAN IN THE
PHILLIPINES?
◦ These rights include the right to life and liberty, personal
security, freedom from torture, freedom from
discrimination and freedom from arbitrary arrest, among
others
SOCIAL RIGHTS

◦ Social rights include the rights to an adequate standard of


living, affordable housing, food, education, an equitable
health system, and social security based on respect, not
sanctions. ... Across the world, civil society groups are
organising around social rights.
◦ Social rights are "rights to the meeting of basic needs that
are essential for human welfare." Examples of social rights
include the right to healthcare and the right to decent
working conditions.
EXAMPLE:
CULTURAL RIGHTS

◦ Cultural Rights are rights related to art and culture, both


understood in a large sense. ... Cultural rights are human
rights that aim at assuring the enjoyment of culture and its
components in conditions of equality, human dignity and
non-discrimination.
◦ The cultural rights movement has provoked attention to
protect the rights of groups of people, or their culture, in
similar fashion to the manner in which the human rights
movement has brought attention to the needs of individuals
throughout the world.

RIGTHS
◦ Economic, social, and cultural rights include the human right to
work, the right to an adequate standard of living, including food,
clothing, and housing, the right to physical and mental health, the
right to social security, the right to a healthy environment, and the
right to education.
WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR BASIC
RIGHTS?
Each individual state has the responsibility to protect its
populations against violence, war crimes, genocide, ethnic
cleansing, and any crimes against humanity
