Past Perfect Would have + verb3

that thing would have happened. (but neither of those
If this thing had happened things really happened) OR
that thing would have been happening.
Example :
If you had studied harder you would have passed the exam.
If it had rained you would have gotten wet.
If I had accepted that promotion I would have been working in Milan.
Time : in the past The facts they are based on are the opposite of what is expressed.
Condition : contrary to reality

Example
(C) : If i had told her the news, she would have been dead
(F) : i did not tell her the news, she will not be dead
