ORACLE DATABSE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Oracle database products offer customers cost-optimized and high-performance

versions of Oracle Database, the world's leading converged, multi-model
database management system, as well as in-memory, NoSQL and MySQL
databases. Oracle Autonomous Database, available on premises via Oracle
Cloud@Customer or in the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, enables customers to
simplify relational database environments and reduce management workloads.
WORKING PROCESS OF ORACLE:

Oracle Background Processes:

An Oracle database uses memory structures and processes to

manage and access the database. All memory structures exist in
the main memory of the computers that constitute the database
system. Processes are jobs that work in the memory of these
computers.
The architectural features discussed in this section enable the
Oracle database to support:
•Many users concurrently accessing a single database
•The high performance required by concurrent multiuser,
multiapplication database systems

MICROSOFT SQL SERVER DATABASE

Introduction:
• Microsoft SQL Server is a relational database management system (RDBMS) that
supports a wide variety of transaction processing, business intelligence and analytics
applications in corporate IT environments. Microsoft SQL Server is one of the three
market-leading database technologies, along with Oracle Database and IBM's DB2.
• Like other RDBMS software, Microsoft SQL Server is built on top of SQL, a
standardized programming language that database administrators (DBAs) and other IT
professionals use to manage databases and query the data they contain. SQL Server is
tied to Transact-SQL (T-SQL), an implementation of SQL from Microsoft that adds a set
of proprietary programming extensions to the standard language.
USES OF MICROSOFT SQL SERVER
DATABASE
• The SQL Server is a relational database management system from Microsoft. The
system is designed and built is to manage and store information. The system
supports various business intelligence operations, analytics operations, and transaction
processing.
•  The key operating word here is system; the system's function is to manage multiple
databases. It also provides a suite of tools that help to build, change, and manage the
data.

IDM DB2 DATABASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
• IBM Db2 is a family of data management products, including the
Db2 relational database.
• The products feature AI-powered capabilities to help you modernize the
management of both structured and unstructured data across on-premises and
multicloud environments. By helping to make your data simple and accessible,
the Db2 family positions your business to pursue the value of AI.
• Most of the Db2 family is available on the IBM Cloud Pak® for Data platform,
either as an add-on or an included data source service, making virtually all of
your data available across hybrid or multicloud environments to fuel your AI
applications. Easily converge your transactional data stores and rapidly derive
insights through universal, intelligent querying of data across disparate sources.
Cut costs with the multimodel capability that eliminates the need for data
replication and migration. Enhance agility by running Db2 on any cloud vendor.
How IDM DB2 Works?

• Data is categorized into tablespaces and can be retrieved through queries, using SQL. The
database uses schemas and indexes to organize data
• SQL was developed by IBM in for use in its DBMS at the time, System R (which was succeeded
by DB2). SQL eventually became the primary language used for managing databases..
• Db2 is a Relational Database Management System(RDBMS). It organizes the storage of a
vast array of types of data, and optimizes the later retrieval of that data. It implements
the standard concepts of a relational database, as well as the SQL standard query language
that is available on relational database systems.
