"How can we apply one of the
Psychological Foundations in
making ourselves aware both of
our mental health and others?"
Topic 1:
Definition
Self awareness is empowering because once we are self aware, we understand how
other people may perceive us and how we perceive them, how we are differ and how
we are alike.
Topic 3: Body
Our mental health influences how we think, feel, and behave in daily life. It also affects our ability to
handle stress, face and overcome challenges, maintain and build relationships, and recover from
difficulties and setbacks. And also we all experience disappointment, loss, and change. While a
normal part of life, these emotions and experiences still cause sadness, anxiety, and stress. But just as
physically healthy people are better able to bounce back from illness or injury. People with strong
mental health are better able to bounce back from adversity, trauma, and stress. This skill is called
resilience. People who are emotionally and mentally resilient have the tools for coping with difficult
situations and maintaining a positive outlook. They remain focused, flexible, and productive, in bad
times as well as good.
Topic 4:
Example
This doesn't have to be a grueling gym session - you simply need to get your heart racing, for example by
going for a brisk walk or a bike ride.
Exercise releases endorphins, it makes us feel good,' says Kate. 'We feel a great sense of accomplishment
from exercise and it also often goes hand in hand with other positive steps towards good mental health,
such as spending time with other people or time outdoors.
Mindfulness
A relaxation technique originating in Buddhism, mindfulness is a popular coping mechanism for those
tackling stress or anxiety. Used by clinicians to improve patients' physical and mental health, it can
significantly lower stress levels. It is most often practiced through deep breathing or guided meditation.
Talking to someone
Isolation can have an extremely negative impact on your happiness. Accepting that you need help
and talking to someone is often the first step to feeling better.
Speak to your friends and family - they know you best and care about you the most. What's more,
studies suggest that socializing with a friend just once a week can reduce your stress levels and
improve your mood as much as therapy or counseling.
Visit a friend and tell them about the problems you are facing and then tell them about the good
things in your life, ask them to help you to gain some perspective,' suggests Charlotte. 'Sharing
difficulties can help. However, going over and over them often doesn't and is likely to tire your
friend, so ask them to listen first and then help you to get a different angle on things.'
Getting enough sleep
Here are a few everyday mental health tips to help you elevate your mood and become more resilient
Relaxation exercises can improve your state of mind and outlook on life. Many people use alcohol and
other drugs to self-medicate but in reality, substance use may get in the way of your ability to function at
work or school, maintain a stable home life, handle life’s difficulties, and relate to others. Get help from a
licensed mental health professional when and if you need it. Just as it requires effort to build and maintain
physical health, so it is with mental health.
This list included a few small but impactful ways to improve your mental health every day. People who get
appropriate care can recover from mental illness and lead full, productive, and rewarding lives
Topic 6: Conclusion
We conclude that mental health are really matter, we need to be aware for that. The
anxiety is normal but highly subjective, human emotion. There's have a purpose,
anxiety can also become the cause of tremendous suffering for millions of people.
If you experience this you can consult to the doctor or even do what makes you
happy or calm. Just inhale and exhale.
