Vasectomy
Vasectomy (vasectomy) is one of the male
contraceptives to prevent pregnancy in their
partner. This procedure is a permanent method of
contraception, but men can still ejaculate and
orgasm. To be clear, here is more information
about vasectomy or better known as sterilization.
Nexz…
Understanding vasectomy is one of the most effective types of contraception in men
with a success rate of 99 percent. That is, less than 1 in 100 women who get pregnant after a
year of men undergoing a vasectomy procedure.

A vasectomy is performed by cutting the vas deferens, which is a small tube-shaped

tube in the scrotum that carries sperm out of the penis. Usually, doctors ask patients to undergo
follow-up tests about 8-16 weeks after the vasectomy. This is to ensure that no sperm remains
in the penis.

Even so, men can still make a partner pregnant until the sperm count is completely zero.
That is why, after the vasectomy procedure (vasectomy) in men is completed, patients are
advised to continue using other contraceptive methods, for at least 3 months.
Types of Vasectomy
There are two methods of vasectomy that can be done, namely:
1. Incision method

In a conventional vasectomy or incision method, the surgeon will make incisions

on both sides of the scrotum, namely the top of the scrotum and the bottom of the
penis. Then the vas deferens inside will be removed, tied up, or even catheterized.
The scar will then be sutured as a final step.
2. Non-incision method

Meanwhile, in a vasectomy without a scalpel, the surgeon will use a small clamp
to hold the canal to be cut. Next, a small hole is made in the skin of the scrotum
and the doctor cuts the canal before tying it. This vasectomy procedure does not
require stitches. In fact, a vasectomy (vasectomy) is arguably the most popular
procedure due to its minimal risks and complications

Natural Comtraception

Natural family planning method is a calendar

method or simple method of contraception carried
out by a married couple by not having intercourse
or sexual intercourse during the fertile or
ovulation period.
Benefit
1. contraception and conception.
2. As a means of birth control or
preventing pregnancy.
3. Can be used by couples to expect a
baby by having sexual intercourse
during the fertile period / ovulation to
increase the chance of getting
pregnant.
Profit
The calendar or periodic abstinence method has the following
advantages:
1.The calendar method or periodic abstinence is simpler.
2.Can be used by any healthy woman.
3.Does not require special tools or inspections in its application.
4.Do not interfere with sexual intercourse.
5.Contraception using the calendar method can avoid the health risks
associated with contraception.
6.It costs nothing.
7.Does not require a contraceptive service place.
Limitations
As a simple and natural method, the calendar method or periodic abstinence also
has limitations, including:
1. Requires good cooperation between husband and wife.
2. There must be a partner's motivation and discipline in running it.
3. Married couples cannot have sexual intercourse at any time.
4. Married couples must know the fertile period and the infertile period.
5. Must observe the menstrual cycle at least six times the cycle.
6. Irregular menstrual cycles (becomes an obstacle).
7. More effective when combined with other contraceptive methods
Effectiveness

The calendar method will be more effective when done properly and correctly.
Before using this calendar method, married couples must know the fertile
period. In fact, every woman's fertile period is not the same. Therefore, it is
necessary to observe at least six menstrual cycles. In addition, this method will
also be more effective when used in conjunction with other contraceptive
methods. Based on the research of dr. Johnson and colleagues in Sydney, the
calendar method will be three times more effective when combined with the
symptothermal method. The failure rate for using the calendar method is 14
per 100 women per year.
Application
Things to note in a healthy woman's menstrual cycle there are
three stages:
1. Pre ovulatory infertility phase (the period is not fertile
before ovulation).
2. Fertility phase (fertile period).
3. Post ovulatory infertility phase (the period is not fertile after
ovulation).
Calculation of the fertile period will be effective if the menstrual
cycle is normal, which is 21-35 days. Monitoring the number of
days in each menstrual cycle is carried out at least six
consecutive cycles. Then calculate the fertile period by looking at
the recorded data.

 If menstruation is regular (28 days)

The first day of the menstrual cycle is counted as day 1 and the
fertile period is day 12 to day 16 of the menstrual cycle.
