Horror genre movies are one of the most successful genres in film, appealing to large audiences
across the world. However, horror has a certain appeal to the teen/young adult audience
Therefore we decided our films target audience is between the ages of 16-21 . Our music editing
to fit the scene to create a larger tension is key to attracting the audience bringing them into the
film.

It was vital for us to put our characters in immediate danger. This would throw the
audience into the film from the beginning as apposed to having a slow drawn out
beginning. This pre-credit death sequence is a mark of the horror genre since it
became famous in “SCREAM” . The audience now expects something to happen
early on and we didn't want to disappoint. Putting the characters in danger from the
start built up tension hopefully both scaring and entertaining the audience in equal
measure. Having teens on screen creates a bond with our target audience and that
was key to making this opening work
