Cultural Prespective, Communities, and Person (CCU Grups 2)

CULTURAL
PRESPECTIVE
A cultural perspective is viewing a situation or concept through the
eyes of an individual's native environmental and social influence. It
is the influence that a culture and society has on a person's
worldview and perspective. For example, when creating a product it
is important to consider the cultural perspective of the different
groups of people who may purchase it.

Three steps you can take to cultivate cultural perspective are:

1. Take part in professional development training.

2. Be open and in relationship with those around you.
3. Study yourself and how you react in different situations.

CULTURE COMMUNITY
Community culture, sometimes called "folklore" or "folklife," is the living expression of
culture in everyday life—anyone's culture—learned and passed on informally from
person to person. It must be alive and current to be folklife, though it may have existed
over long stretches of time. Everywhere people take the experiences of their lives and
transform them into song, story, decoration, ritual, and celebration—examples of what
folklorists call "expressive culture." When such expressions communicate the shared
experiences, thoughts, and feelings of a group, and are passed on to others, they become
traditions.

CULTURE PERSONS
Cultured people usually like art, music, expensive restaurants, and other things that
are considered luxurious or educated. ... Cultured people have good manners and
ethics. However, being cultured is in the eye of the beholder, because there are so
many different cultures in the world.
