• There is danger to the victims life.


• Explosives and other hazardous materials
involved.
• Impossible to protect the accident site.
• Impossible to gain access to other life
threatening victims.

TYPES OF MOVES

– EMERGENCY MOVE
When there is a dangerous situation.
– NON EMERGENCY MOVE
Give due consideration to injuries
before moving victim.

• May be easier to pull the victim using the Blanket


drag .

• All injuries should be immobilized before moving the
victim.
• Protect yourself and use approved techniques to
move victim.

GENERAL PRINCIPLES

– Do not attempt to carry too heavy a load


– Keep yourself balanced
– Maintain firm footing
– Maintain a constant and firm grip
– Lift and lower by bending your knees, not
your back

– Keep your back straight all the time


– Move your body slowly and do not twist
while lifting
– Keep your arms as close as possible to your
body
– Do not keep your muscles contracted for a
long period of time
