1. Typical hospital fire cases

 On April 10, 2006, an explosion occurred in the garage of the

staff hospital of Xuan gang Coal Mine in Shanxi Province,
killing more than 30 people ( enorth,2006 )

 On June 13, 2014, 4 people died in a fire in the Second

Hospital of Huangshi City, Hubei ( CNTV,2014 )

2. Risk of hospital fire

 There are many combustible materials and

the fire hazard is heavy
 Large number of evacuees makes it
difficult to save
 Aging of electrical circuits, overload of
electricity
 There are many sporadic fires, which
makes management difficult
5
3. Emergency plan
 Found the fire alarm information, the duty
personnel quickly arrived at the scene to verify
and confirm the authenticity of the fire alarm
 Confirm the fire start the fire protection system
(button, call. Report to hospital leaders and
heads of security departments. Report fire to
119 (fire site, location, burning. Burning items
and fire conditions, etc.) Sound fire alarm

How to use carbon dioxide fire extinguisher

When extinguishing fire, first remove the safety

pin, as long as the fire extinguisher barrel is aimed
at the fire source, open and close the valve, the
liquid carbon dioxide immediately vaporizes, and
quickly ejects under the action of high pressure.
When extinguishing the fire, it is necessary to
spray continuously to prevent the embers from
reigniting and cannot be used upside down.

Precautions for carbon dioxide fire
extinguishers

Carbon dioxide is a suffocating gas, which is

harmful to the human body. In the air, if the carbon
dioxide content reaches 8.5%, breathing difficulties
and blood pressure will increase; when the carbon
dioxide content reaches 20-30%, the breath will be
weak, mentally weak, and serious death may occur
due to suffocation. Therefore, after using carbon
dioxide fire extinguishers in a fire place with no air
circulation, they must be ventilated in time.

19
Precautions for carbon dioxide fire
extinguishers
Carbon dioxide is stored in a steel bottle in a
liquid state. During use, the liquid quickly
vaporizes and absorbs its own heat, causing its
temperature to drop sharply to about -78.5℃.
Use it to cool the burning material and dilute
the oxygen content in the air of the combustion
area to achieve the effect of fire extinguishing.
Therefore, you must wear gloves during use
and move quickly to prevent frostbite. If it is
outdoors, it cannot be used against the wind.

evacuation route;
b)Evacuation team members Organize personnel to evacuate in an
orderly way to the evacuation aisle and safety exit. Medical
personnel and ambulance team personnel should be evacuated
and transferred according to the established plan for patients
who cannot move autonomously or because of serious illness.
During the transfer process, necessary protection and
ambulance should be taken. Measures;
c) During the evacuation process, natural smoke exhaust windows
should be opened and smoke prevention and exhaust facilities
should be activated. In case of emergency, escape equipment
can be used to evacuate personnel.
