 Imperial Tobacco Company of India Limited was
incorporated on August 24, 1910
Rechristened several times..
 India Tobacco Company Limited in 1970
 I.T.C. Limited in 1974.
ITC Limited in September 18, 2001
Evolution
First 60yrs devoted to Cigarettes and Leaf Tobacco businesses
In 1925- Packaging & Printing Business
1975 - launched Hotels business
*to earn high levels of foreign exchange,
* to create tourism infrastructure
*to generate large scale direct and indirect employment.
In 1979 - Paperboards business
In 1985- ITC set up Surya Tobacco Co. in Nepal as an Indo-Nepal
and British joint venture. > In 2002 changed name to Surya
Nepal Private Limited (Surya Nepal). (*became a subsidiary of
ITC Limited)
In 1990- Agri Business Division for export of agri-
commodities.
