EMRI’s Business model, its uniqueness and the reasons of success

• Emergency management and research Institute was founded in 2005 by B. Ramalinga Raju an
Indian Entrepreneur and a visionary who also founded Satyam Computer services.
• His Vision was to provide Professional emergency services, Covering medical, Police and Fire.
• EMRI was country’s first not for profit Public private partnership in healthcare sector. It started
from the city of Hyderabad and grew its operations to 6 states.
• There Uniqueness lied in bringing the strengths of both the parties and building synergy for the
benefit of both the partners.
• Government played a key role in their success by providing necessary finance, building awareness
and providing regulatory support.
• EMRI was a not for profit organization with a social goal to help people so everyone helped
promoting their cause.
• EMRI used latest software, telecommunication, medical and fleet technology and used best
emergency practices.
• Three Pillars of operating model : Sense, Care and Reach.
• Continuous Support from key stakeholders was one of the reason for their success.
