WHAT IS PTTC?
Philippine Trade Training Center or (PTTC) are
attached agency of Trade and Industry (DTI) was
created by virtue of Executive order (EO) No. 133
issued on Feb. 27, 1987. It started operations in
calendar year 1988 under the supervision of DTI's
International Trade Group

The Philippine Trade Training Center was


accordingly mandated to develop an institutional
capability to provide training in the field of
international marketing. With this objective, PTTC
envisioned to produce world class Filipino exporters
proudly competing in the world market.

1.DIGIFAB
-Digital Fabrication (DigiFab) Workshops
and Services offer aspiring and existing
Services of MSMEs, freelance individual designers, and
service providers to MSMEs access to hands-
PTTC on training on the appreciation of creative and
functional designs, 3D printing, product
prototyping, and packaging & label designs.

2. FOOD CONNECT
- one of PTTC – GMEA's Regional Programs, is aimed at assisting food manufacturers understand the standards,

documentation, and application of the “gate-to-plate" processes in the food chain. Activities include:

1) Food Talks or briefings on International Labeling Requirements of Major Importing Countries such as USA, China,

Japan and UAE;

2) Mentoring and consultative sessions by key industry practitioners providing practical, innovative tips on processes

that can be adopted by MSMEs in food safety, shelf life, food processing technology and innovation, basic labeling

requirements, process and product assessment;

3) Awareness on the regulatory compliance of Food and Drugs Administration- License to Operate/Certificate of Product
Registration (FDA-LTO/CPR), HALAL, and International Food Standards

• Food Lab Complete with food testing facilities such as Water Activity, Water and pH Content and

Metal Detector, the Food Lab assists in the initial assessment of food properties for third party

laboratory testing.
• Food Connect Hub

To supplement the Food Connect Program, the Food Connect Hub offers working spaces for small

group gathering, networking, and negotiations.


• 3. i4 CoLab

i4 CoLab offers shared spaces facilities for meetings, conferences, workshops, researches, and
trade-related activities aimed at building a community that promotes collaboration, growth, and
productivity among aspiring entrepreneurs and MSMEs.

Partnership of Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Japan

International Cooperation Industry (JICO) established PTTC to


improve trade performance and to curve nations external debt > It
widens when Philippines become part of Asean that' s why PTTC

develop an institutional capability to provide training in the field of


international marketing to produced world class Filipino exporters
proudly competing in the world market.

Significant Accomplishment

The First five years, they supplement a conduct of training programs that uses audio-visual
materials to further enhanced the learning environment, called “Step by Step Export” which

won a special award among 60 entries from 30 countries at the 1990 Sony International Video

Contest in Tokyo, Japan > In 2019, from a mere learning hub for exporters it transformed into
the Philippines’ Global MSME Academy by virtue of a DP issued and signed by DTI Sec.
Ramon Lopez that recognized the MSMEs’ role on employment generation and economic
growth as stated in RA No. 9501

Significant Contribution
 Provides comprehensive training Program to MSME’s (Micro, Small, and Medium
Enterprises).
The PTTC provide support and assistance to MSME’s through training and capacity building
program for the development, growth, and innovation of their business. They also offer
specialized courses for specific industry groups.

 Bring awareness and knowledge to Philippine businessmen about International trade.


Increase the level of awareness and knowledge of domestic businesses about Export and Import.
How will they engage in export and Import business? How to identify export opportunities and
what alternative sources of import products are available? The pros and cons and the rules and
regulation of International trade. Those topics or information will be gained with the help of
PTTC.

 Help Domestic business compete in International Business.


Through that training program, domestic businesses will have a chance to further improve their
products or business so that it will compete in international business.
