What is data validation in Excel?

 Excel Data Validation is a feature that restricts (validates) user input to a

worksheet. Technically, you create a validation rule that controls what kind
of data can be entered into a certain cell.
Data Validation

 Allow only numeric or text values in a cell.

 Allow only numbers within a specified range.
 Allow data entries of a specific length.
 Restrict dates and times outside a given range.
 Restrict entries to a selection from a drop-down list.
 Validate an entry based on another cell.
 Show an input message when the user selects a cell.
 Show a warning message when incorrect data has been entered.
 Find incorrect entries in validated cells.
GOAL SEEK

 The Goal Seek Excel function (often referred to as What-if-Analysis) is a

method of solving for a desired output by changing an assumption that drives
it.  The function essentially uses a trial and error approach to back-solving
the problem by plugging in guesses until it arrives at the answer
FREEZE ROWS OR COLUMN

 When working with large datasets in Excel, you may often want to lock
certain rows or columns so that you can view their contents while scrolling to
another area of the worksheet. This can be easily done by using the Freeze
Panes command and a few other features of Excel.
PRINT A TITLE COLUMN ON EACH PAGE

If you want to print a sheet that will have many printed pages, you can set
options to print the sheet's headings or titles on every page.
PIVOT TABLE AND CHART

 A Pivot Table is a tool in Microsoft Excel that allows you to quickly summarize
huge datasets (with a few clicks).
 Even if you’re absolutely new to the world of Excel, you can easily use a Pivot
Table. It’s as easy as dragging and dropping rows/columns headers to create
reports.
MACROS

 If you have tasks in Microsoft Excel that you do repeatedly, you can record

a macro to automate those tasks. A macro is an action or a set of actions that
you can run as many times as you want. When you create a macro, you are
recording your mouse clicks and keystrokes.
VLOOKUP

 The VLOOKUP function is one of the most popular functions in Excel. This

page contains many easy to follow VLOOKUP examples.
 Exact Match
 Most of the time you are looking for an exact match when you use the
VLOOKUP function in Excel. Let's take a look at the arguments of the
VLOOKUP function.
