When the COVID-19 crisis hit, the
Trust had to quickly enable
approximately 350 employees to
work from home, but the cost and
delay of procuring computers for
these workers were prohibitive.
It took less than four weeks for
the Trust’s IT partners to deploy
the Azure Virtual Desktop
solution so employees could work
remotely.
The Trust saved about £340,000
(USD442,000) on hardware and
£3,500 on software costs that it would
have spent to deploy laptops, along
with 80 percent of the IT time needed
to manually configure and update
company-managed devices.
