Safety:
The meaning of the term safety is being safe, not being
dangerous or in danger

OR

The preventive measures which are taken to avoid small or big

accidents is known as safety.
Hazard:
Hazard is a probable or possible cause of an accident or the
things that arise without planning or at random.

Major accident hazard:

The major accident hazard is that in which a person coming in
contact with machinery equipment or apparatus gets a serve
shock, which may cause the death of the person or persons
coming in contact this will happen, if there is faulty earthingor
there is no insulation of circuit.
Causes of electrical accidents:
1. Working on live equipments.
2. Accidental contact with live part.
3. Not using proper insulated tools.
4. Lack of knowledge in handling of equipments.
5. Not obeying proper instructions.
Preventive measures to be taken in case of
electrical accidents
1.Never use a damaged extension cord.
2.When unplugging, don’t yank! Pull by the plug, not the cord.
3.Before changing a lightbulb, switch the light off or unplug the
lamp.
4.In the bathroom, never use electrical devices if you are wet or the
humidity level is high.
5.Never throw water on an outlet that’s on fire.
6.Don’t run cords under rugs or furniture.Alsokeep them away
from pets that like to chew.
Electric Shock:
When body becomes the part of a path through which electric
current flows in a closed path of the circuit then the electric
shock occurs.
This electric shock happens when:
1.The body get contact with conductors in an energized circuit.
2.The body provides a path between conductor of an energized
circuit and the ground.
3.The body gets contact with a metallic part that has contact with
energized wire.
Preventions for electric shock:
1. Turn Off the Power
2. Test for Power
3. Use Insulated Tools
4. Protect Yourself With GFCIs
5. Never Connect or Disconnect Under Load
