 THE HISTORY OF THE COUGARS
• Did you know there is a big cat living in the United States? It is the cougar, cougars are also
called mountainlions. They are native to the Western Hemisphere. Cougars can be as a far
south as Patagonia in South America.
• Cougars babies are called cubs. Cougar mothers give birth to cubs. There are 1 to 6 cuabs in
a litter. Cougar cubs are born with their eyes closed. Their eyes open about two weeks after
birth
