Brief History
The McDonald's concept was introduced in San
Bernardino, California by Dick and Mac
McDonald of Manchester, New Hampshire. It was
modified and expanded by their business partner, Ray
Kroc, of Oak Park, Illinois, who later bought out the
business interests of the McDonald's brothers in the
concept and went on to found McDonald's Corporation.
He revolutionized the American restaurant industry by imposing
discipline on the production of hamburgers, French fries, and
milk shakes.
Aim and Objectives
 to serve good food in a friendly and fun
environment· to be a socially responsible
company
 · to provide good returns to its shareholders
 · to provide its customers with food of a high
standard, quick service and value for money
Core Business
McDonald's menu concentrates on five main ingredients: beef,
chicken, bread, potatoes and milk, which account for £255
million of food expenditure. The company's main menu lists its
basic food offering: the Big Mac, which still exists as a major
seller; other standard product names come from the McDonald's
convention of adding a 'Mc' to a particular item. So, a chicken
sandwich becomes a 'McChicken' sandwich and chicken
nuggets become chicken 'McNuggets'. This idea has been
extended to their dessert range, with the creation of the
'McFlurry' ice cream.

Supply Chain Integration
Integration
 Horizontal Integration: under this integration
McDonalds purchase competition with differing
target markets. They develop into activities that are
competitive to current activities.

 Vertical integration: We think that is a Backward

Vertical Integration because McDonalds expand
their operations into industries that produce inputs to
the McDonald’s products.
Outsource
Outsource: McDonalds outsourced some products like Ketchup
by Heinz, milk by nestle, and mores. This also depends on
countries where McDonalds are located. McDonald’s has
signed a five year extension to its global IT outsourcing
agreement with Affiliated Computer Services.
Poka Yokes
As everyone knows that McDonalds famous all around and everyone likes it.
But this corporation faced a problem that is food preparation system because
they have so many years of success and they have best and fastest in the
business. However in the late 1980s the business began to change although
McDonalds has successful system for handling their high volume and its
current menu the changing market place brought about new challenges.
There are problems due to different liking of people ordering which might
lead to queuing problems, many people waiting for their turn to come. By
using Poka Yokes they have designed and implemented it’s new just in time
new kitchen system named “Made for you”. This kitchen is a technological
over all of its previous system to design and to improve food quality, allow
many new menu items to be more introduced and provide superior customer
service.

Recommendation
 While doing this report, we personally want to give
some advice about more of traditional dishes. As we
live in Thailand, we love to eat rice and curry and
other traditional dishes. So to make the McDonalds
more attractive in Thailand, McDonalds should make
these kinds of dish.
 Our advice to McDonalds is to make the restaurant
more attractive because here we have many
restaurants that are competing with McDonalds like
Burger Kings, KFC and mores.
Conclusion
 To Conclude, McDonalds has undergone several changes
since its inception in San Bernardino, California. The fast
food chain has conquered the U.S. and is also world wide
spread throughout.
 McDonalds are doing well in their home country and other
countries around the world. We loved McDonalds because
McDonalds makes us Smile. They served for customers and
respected their customers. That is why many people like
McDonalds as a FFF (Favorite Fast Food). It makes us fat
but we still like to eat it because it is delicious. After doing
analysis and strategies of McDonalds, we came to know
many things about inner side and how they become
successful.
Our View Points
 If we were the CEO of this company would
we do things differently?
 Questions to our friends to answer. This will
evaluate how well we presented our materials
and how well our friends understand us.
 Share our experiences what we faced while
doing this assignment. Was it hard to find the
information? Did we have fun?
