PEOPLE
Some persons including children's , can be visually handicapped. They have
very limited vision to see things. Some persons cannot see at all since their
birth. Some persons may lose their eyesight because of any infections or
disease. Such persons try to identify things by touching and listening to voices
more carefully . They develop their other senses more carefully and sharply .
However , additional resources can enable them to develop their capabilities
further.

What is Braille system?


• Braille is a system of touching and reading and writing for
blind persons in which raised dots represent the letter of
the alphabet.
• It also contains equivalent for punctuation marks and
provides symbols to show letter groupings.
• Braille is read by moving the hand or hands from
left to right along each line.

Advantages of braille system


• Braille supports development of accessible and
efficient reading and writing.
• Braille supports instruction in correct written
language usage, such as structuring sentences,
spelling, formatting paragraphs, and editing.
• Braille allows the student access to the same written

IN CELLS OF TWO VERTCAL ROWS OF THREE DOTS EACH.

HELEN A
Helen Adams Keller (June 27,KELLER
1880 – June 1, 1968) was an American
author, disability rights  advocate, political activist and lecturer. Born in
West Tuscumbia, Alabama, she lost her sight and hearing after about of
illness at the age of nineteen months. She then communicated primarily
using home signs until the age of seven when she met her first teacher and
life-long companion Anne Sullivan, who taught her language, including
reading and writing; Sullivan's first lessons involved spelling words on
Keller's hand to show her the names of objects around her. She also learned
how to speak and to understand other people's speech using
the Tadoma method. After an education at both specialist and mainstream
schools, she attended Radcliffe College of Harvard University and became
the first deaf blind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree.

LAL ADVANI
• Despite being blind, Lal Advani worked on several
positions in Government departments related to
welfare of the disabled and other weaker
sections and in non-government organizations. 
He was born on April 26, 1923, in the Sindh
province . Lal Advani was selected President of
the Asian Blind Union. He fulfilled the
responsibility while in Govt. service.  He visited
several countries and impressed the
representatives of member nations. He was able
to assess the situation of the blind in the
countries he visited.  Advani likes writing.  He
types himself and  also dictates .  He has written a
book on the mentally retarded.

RAVINDRA JAIN
•Ravindra Jain a.k.a Ravinder Sharma is a well 
known music director, who has given some very
popular musical scores in hindi films in the 1970s
and early 1980s. He was born, blind, in Aligarh on
28th February in 1944. He was also given a golden
opportunity when Raj Kapoor gave him the
responsibility of composing for his film, Ram Teri
Ganga Maili. The songs went on to become chart
toppers . Ravindra Jain has also composed for
many TV serials, mainly under the banner of
Sagar Films (Pvt. Ltd.). Ravindra Jain won the
Filmfare Best Music Director Award for Ram Teri
Ganga Maili in 1985.
