MEANING
What is Feminism?

Feminism means having common

sense. It’s the idea that everyone is
equal and deserves to be given this
equality.

However, in our world, this isn’t

always the case, and that’s where
feminism comes in.
MISCONCEPT
02 IONS
1. Feminists believe women are better
•than men
They put women above men.
• There might be a lot of people who call
themselves feminists and claim that women are
superior to men, but this kind of feminism is not
true feminism.
2. Feminists don't care about how they
• look
This myth comes from the misconception that
women only ever use makeup in order to cover up
insecurities.
• The way someone presents themselves often has
nothing to do with their political values/personality.

3. Feminism is the fight for power and
• matriarchy.
It is a common myth that the day feminism
takes over the world, men would become
oppressed.
• It is not power and supremacy that feminist
  want. Only equality.

4. Feminism Is Essentially About Male

Bashing
• That’d be misandry, which feminism is often
mistaken for
• A feminist who hates men solely because
they belong to the other gender is no
feminist.
5. Feminists Want it Easy
• Feminists are not demanding privileges, just what
they deserve
• They don’t want to be raised up on a higher
platform, they just want to be given that chance to
live in the world as freely as men

6. All Feminists Are Career-

•Oriented
Feminism doesn’t say a woman who stays at home
and raises a family is oppressed or regressive.
• Freedom of choice is what it stands in support for,
whether that leads a woman to the kitchen or the
office.
7. Feminists Don’t Believe In Marriages
• It’s a personal choice irrespective of their views on feminism.
• What feminists are definitely against is the idea of unequal
marriages.

8. Only Women Can Be Feminists

• Anybody who supports equal rights for women is a feminist
