 What Is Lexicon?

Lexical meaning is also called the meaning

contained in the dictionary. The lexical meaning is
the meaning of a basic linguistic symbol. This type
of meaning refers to the true meaning of a linguistic
form, which can stand alone regardless of the
context.
The procedure for meaning or
components of lexical meaning is as
follows:
1. Naming (naming) or
mention (labeling)
2. Paraphrasing
3. Defining (definition)
4. Classify (classified)
 The Function Of Lexicon
The function of this lexical verb is to describe or indicate the main action taken by the
subject.
Type Of Lexicon
Linguists believe that the meaning
of words is not singular. One
symbol can represent more than
one and even has very diverse
word equivalents. Thus, the lexical
meaning is divided into five types,
namely:
 *Synonym
*Antonym
*Homonym
Homonyms are also called sound equations. Lexicon words have the
same sound and form, but have different meaning
*Hyponym
A hyponym is a word that lexicon represents a certain set or group of
words. Words that have a hyponymous meaning represent many
things, which result in generalizations.
*Meronim
Meronim is a word that lexicons a part that represents something as a
whole.
That is, the type of meaning of the word can represent another
meaning that is more comprehensive.
