PROBLEM
BACKGROUND

Electrical energy is involved in all aspects of life. The use of electrical energy is not spared from
excessive use or waste, one of which is from electrical energy in the sector for household needs. One
solution to this problem is the use of an electrical energy monitoring system, with the monitoring of the
public will understand how much electricity consumption in a certain period of time.

From the above problems, a tool is needed that can monitor the use of electrical energy in real
time anywhere and anytime using the internet network and has a communication network that can
reach to the corners of the village. So in this research will design a tool that can monitor electrical
energy in real time using the LoRaWAN network on the Antares platform more reliably. In this study,
researchers aimed to develop data transmission from sensors in order to communicate using Antares'
LoRaWAN network that can be accessed anywhere and anytime.
LITERATURE REVIEW
THE FORMULATION OF PROBLEM

The problem formulation of this study is:

1. What is the accuracy of the 1 phase electrical energy reading of the PZEM-004T 10A sensor
module?
2. How to design a 1 phase electrical power monitoring system using the LoRaWAN network on the
Antares platform?
3. How does the performance of the LoRaWAN network be based on the parameters of RSSI, SNR
and Packet Loss against the range variation?
SCOPE OF PROBLEM

The limitations of the study are:

1. The system developed uses the Arduino Uno R3 microcontolr board.
2. The LoRaWAN Gateway used is Telkom Purwokerto's Public Gateway.
3. The platform used is Antares.
4. The platform used is based on the Website.
5. In this study only monitoring the parameters of Voltage, Current, Frequency, Power, Energy and
Power Factor.
6. The monitored power grid is the 1 phase 220V 50Hz ac power grid standard PLN (State Electricity
Company).
