HUB

Ethernet Hub or center is a computer

network device that functions to connect
devices with ethernet cables or optical
fiber so that they can be used as a
network segment.

Hub works on a ljsxihujeayer (layer 1) in

the OSI reference (OSI model). This Hub is
used be able to deliver some data from
service user (clients)
HUB Function
• Facilitate additional of removal and addition of workstations.
• Adding a network distance (has a function as a repeater).
• Provides or also facilitates flexibility by supporting different interfaces (Ethernet Toket ring and
FDDI).
• Offers features that are fault tolerance.
• Provide centralized management (information collection, diagonistic).
Types of Hub
• Passive Hub • Active hubs
simply serve as a point of repeat and strengthen incoming
connectivity, without any transmissions. They are also
additional capabilities. sometimes referred to as
repeaters.
How do network Hub

• This hub works by receiving data from a device connected to the port
and will send it to various other devices that are connected to the hub
port.
• The hub does not send data to the destination, so the hub will send
data to all devices connected to the hub, unlike a switch which sends
data to messages only.
Wireless
Access Point
A wireless access point (WAP), also
known as an access point, is a piece
of hardware used in a local wireless
area network to send and receive
data.
Wireless Acces Point Function
• Access on a device based on the MAC address. The MAC address is a unique indication of what a
network card device has.
• As a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server so that it is able to provide an IP address
for each connected device.
• Replaces the function of a hub connected to a wireless local network with a wired network.
• Features Provide WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) and WAP (Wireless Application Protocol)
security. It is a security of the wireless network by authenticating a key match that the client
assigns to the access point. Meanwhile, WAP is a security method designed to complement the
WEP method by adding a description.
Type Access Point
• Access Point Mode (AP Mode)
This device serves to stream a wired to wireless connection.
• Repeater Mode
This tool is used to increase wireless coverage with SSID (Service Set Identifier) and similar security.
• Bridge Mode
The way this bridge mode works is by creating two individual networks in one internet for two
groups.
• Wireless Router Mode
Dengan mode ini anda dapat berbagi satu koneksi internet kabel ke beberapa klien. etc
How do Access Points Work

• The access point connects directly to a wired local network, usually Ethernet. The access point
then provides a wireless connection using wireless LAN technology, usually Wi-Fi, to other devices
using that wired connection. The access point supports the connection of several wireless devices
through a single wired connection.
• The access point works when a device tries to access the network. Usually on the smartphone
screen a display will appear containing a request for password filling. Furthermore, the access
point will build so that the device can be connected by matching whether the password entered
for the access point is correct or not.
