offered different goods to be
traded
Connected most major
civilizations at the time across
Africa, Europe and Asia

Items such as silk, porcelain, spices,


incense and ivory were traded along this
route.
This route connected Southeast Asia, India,
Arabia, and East Africa
Route had began as early as 3000 B.C.
Mediterranean Sea Complex

Items such as Ivory, spices, slaves, wine,


and weapons were traded along this route
Effectively connected Asia, Africa, and
Europe to each other
Route began as early as the 13th century
Silk Roads

Items such as silk, spices, tea, ivory,


cotton, wool, and precious metals were
sold.
This route connected China and the Far-
East with Europe and the Middle East
The Silk Roads have existed since around
130 B.C.

Some of the things exchanged through the routes


were not physician items, but cultural influences

Things such as religions, philosophies, languages,


and technologies were exchange, altering every
interconnected location on the route

Another thing exchanged, but not intentionally,


was disease, as new locations were not immune
or equipped to deal with such illnesses
