COURSE SCHEDULE
• Subjects were divided into 3 groups with more or less 3 subjects per group
• Semester was divided into 3 Shifts with 6 weeks per shift
• 1st Shift – August 16 – September 24 (Week 1-6)
• 2nd Shift – September 27 – November 5 (Week 7-12)
• 3rd Shift – November 8 – December 17 (Week 13-18)

• Our subject Math 2 is in the 3rd Shift


• Our class is every Saturday, 1:00-3:00 pm

Google Classroom

COURSE FLOW
• Our subject will make use of Google Classroom where
announcement, module/s, and activities to be complied
are found and to be downloaded by you
• It’s also in the Google Classroom that you will submit
the activities you have accomplished by uploading it

• For those with poor internet connectivity or no access to
internet, you may drop your accomplished activities in
the drop box near the Guard House
• I will pick those accomplished activities every Monday in the
afternoon
• But I will appreciate if you can submit it online for safety
reason

• I will upload the modules and activities to be
accomplished every Saturday in our Google Classroom
• Download it, read and accomplished the activities all
through out the week at your convenient time

• Sunday, 1:30 – 3:00pm is intended for our weekly online
class; an avenue for clarification/queries, a sort of discussion
of our topic/modules and our activity
• This is also where our e-quiz (at least 5 items) takes place via
PPT/Google Form
• Submit your accomplished activities on or before Sunday
midnight
COURSE DESCRIPTION
• The course aims to equip the prospective teachers with the necessary
pedagogical content knowledge for the teaching of basic contents in
mathematics in the intermediate grades.
• Understanding and appreciation of key concepts and skills involving the
5 general contents in Mathematics education in the Philippines:
• numbers and number sense (whole numbers, number theory, fractions,
decimals, ratio and proportion, percent and integers);
• measurement (time, speed, perimeter, circumference and plane figures,
volume and surface area of solid/space figures, temperature and meter
reading);

• The course aims to equip the prospective teachers with the necessary pedagogical content
knowledge for the teaching of basic contents in mathematics in the intermediate grades.
• Understanding and appreciation of key concepts and skills involving the 5 general contents
in Mathematics education in the Philippines:
• geometry (parallel and perpendicular line, angles, triangles, quadrilaterals, polygons , circles
and solid figures);
• patterns and algebra (continuous and repeating patterns, number sentences, sequences and
simple equations);
• statistics and probability (bar graphs, line graphs and pie graphs, simple experiment and
experimental probability)
• as applied using appropriate technology in critical thinking, problem solving, reasoning,
communicating, making connections, representations and decisions in real life.

• Applying those pedagogical content in Mathematics using
appropriate technology in critical thinking, problem solving,
reasoning, communicating, making connections,
representations and decisions in real life.
• Various principles and appropriate teaching approaches,
methods and techniques associated with Mathematics
Instruction towards assuming responsibility for
independent learning will be emphasized.
GRADING SYSTEM
1. Weekly Quiz – 10%
• Every after our weekly Online Class (at least 5-item via PPT/Google Form)

2. Midterm and/or Final Written/Online Examination – 25%


• 50-item Test via PPT/Google Form or limited face-to-face

3. Reflective Journals – 15%


• Every week of discussion, you are required to make and submit Reflective Journals online via
Google Classroom or through the drop box

4. E-Portfolio – 50%
• The portfolio is the collection of your accomplished activities. Hence, the more activities you have
submitted, the more that it has, the higher the grade will have
