Introduction
In my presentation I have interviewed 5 OFWs from Singapore with
different kinds of work. My goal here is to know what would be their
annual salary or fixed amount of money agreed every year as pay for
them being an employee. Generally I’ve used linear function to get the
annual salary of my interviewees. So I’ve chose linear function because
for me it is the easiest ways to find the their annual salary using the given
data that I have gathered during the interview. In addition, I also included
the answer or what would be the equal if I add the monthly salary to the
incentives and deducting the expenses (deductions).

Monthly salary 650 Singaporean Dollars

Incentives • House allowance – SGD 400

• Transpo allowance - SGD 50

Deductions • PAG IBIG - SGD 210

• Food allowance- SGD 250
• Utilities - SGD 139

Income or Salary in SGD

Since we are finding the what is their annual salary

or their fixed amount of money agreed every year as
pay for being an employee:
f(12) = SGD 650(12) = SGD 7800
So first I’ve plot the data that I have been gathered to a linear form and the equation is in this
order:
f(x)= monthly salary (no. of months) + Incentives – Deductions
Since I only need the annual salary the main focused here is the f(x)= monthly salary
multiplied to the number of months. This is the summary of all of my interviewees annual
salary.
Name F(x) = monthly salary (no. Annual Salary or
of months) Salary for the
Whole Year
Kristine Maceo f(12) = SGD 650(12) = SGD 7800

Joy Calera f(12) = SGD 650(12) = SGD 8400

We multiply Rowena Delgado f(12) = SGD 650(12) = SGD 7800
it to 12
because it is Mhing Manliclic f(12) = SGD 650(12) = SGD 26400
the number
Camille Herrera f(12) = SGD 650(12) = SGD 36000
of months in
a year.
Insights

The reason why I’ve included the equal is to know how

much would be excess or how much would be left in
their salary. During the interview I’ve learned that the
extra money goes to their savings or for their emergency
money. Also, while listening to them of course they’ve
shared some of their experiences which personally I am
touched on how they’ve manage to budget their money
and I have also heard that sometimes they don’t eat so
they can give money to their families.
