TIPS FOR LEARNING REMOTELY

 Online learning is a major adjustment for everyone involved, so here are a few tips to maintain your focus and
keep your marks up:
 Work in a quiet place in your home with little to no distractions;
 If you need background noise, turn on some classical music;
 Take short breaks every hour to stretch, exercise, clear your mind and drink a glass of something you enjoy;
 Set up your home workspace as well and as comfortable as you can; and
 Start every day with a fresh perspective and a positive attitude.
CREATE A ROUTINE AND STICK TO IT

 Keep a semester and weekly calendar, and on the first day of classes put
your schedule for the semester and all due dates into your calendar.
 With online learning you have the opportunity to create a schedule that
works for you.
 Create your schedule around the parts of the day you generally feel
more motivated to listen to lectures, write essays or solve equations.
 A routine will prime your mind for class, it will also help your family
know not to disturb you during these times.
 Its important to schedule in some time for you, some time for exercise,
hobbies and interests.
ESTABLISH A
DESIGNATED
STUDY SPACE

 Find a quiet spot in your home

where the objects around you are
only those that relate to studying.
 Making a place dedicated to
studying will allow you to
concentrate better.
 Make your home office
somewhere with enough space to
set up your laptop and all the
tools you need to be successful.
MY STUDY SPACE

 This is my designated study space.

 I put my desk in a quiet space in my basement and
made it comfortable for me.
 My calendar is set up in front of me so I can see
what I must do each week and what I need to focus
on.
 I have a tiny cactus because they say plants make it
more cozy.
DON’T BE AFRAID TO ASK FOR HELP

 It is more difficult for your teachers to see that you're struggling while learning
online, they can't pick up on important cues from their students.
 It is up to you to ask for help and ask questions when you are unsure.
 Your professors are always happy to help so let them help!
TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF

 Remembering the goal you are working towards

will help you work through the challenges of being
a student.
 Stay healthy by getting enough sleep, nutrition and
exercise.
 Leave time aside to hangout with friends and
family.
 Keeping your routine will help give you more time
for yourself.
