PROPERTIES OF LACQUERED GLASS Lacquered
GLASS
1. Highly Durable and Opaque lacquer
2. smooth finish
3. Lacquered glass is highly sustainable and helps to
maintain clean environmental surroundings.
4. lacquered glass is 100% recyclable and non-toxic.
5. wide range of attractive shades
6. They are also perfect for spaces that receive much
sunlight as its UV-resistant features prevent
discolouration of the glass.
7. they work great in kitchens and bathrooms as they hold
a heating capacity of up to 65 degrees Celsius.
8. humidity, scratch, thermal, and UV-resistant and is
available in a variety of processing options – you can
get AIS Décor cut, drilled, ground, polished, bevelled,
or edge-finished as per your desire.
1. Easy to Modify and Model
Lacquered glass gives you a lot of flexibility to experiment with. It can easily be
cut, drilled, and edge-finished. You can also get it polished as per your needs.

2. Resistant to Moisture and Heat

What makes lacquered glass a great addition to your home is its exceptional
ability to withstand temperatures of up to 80-degrees Celsius, making it an
excellent option for highly humid areas such as your kitchen. Along with
this, lacquered glass blocks out harmful UV rays, thereby staying immune from
discolouration.
2. Easy to Maintain and Clean
Lacquered glass is very easy to maintain. All it requires is a wipe down. It also
doesn’t trap germs or bacteria, ensuring that your kitchen is hygienic and clean.
3. Increases Visual Appeal
Available in a wide variety of colours, the installation of lacquered glass in your
home can breathe new life into its interiors, given the vibrant shades of the glass
and its highly glossy finish.

Area density:
4 mm: 10 kg/m²
6 mm: 15 kg/m² 3
Advantages of Lacquered Glass:

•Available in infinite colours, lacquered glass gives a shiny and

opaque finish to the glass.
•It is highly durable and resists UV radiation, thus the colour does
not fade during its lifetime.
•Back painted glass has high resistance to scratches and humidity,
thus it is useful in wet areas like kitchen and bathroom.
•Due to its shiny and reflective surface, back painted glass reflects
light back and thus creates brighter space, optimizing the use of
artificial lights.
•They can be easily processed further to produce decorative
tempered glass, laminated glass, ceramic printed glass, frosted
glass, etc.
•It can withstand temperature up to 80 0C, for stronger glass, heat
strengthened or tempered lacquered glass is used.
•They can be easily maintained and cleaned.

PROPERTIES OF TINTED GLASS
1. Tinted glass possesses filtering properties that help reduce eyestrain due
to dazzle.
2. Its absorption properties help diminish energy transmissions when TINTED
exposed to sunlight.
GLASS
3.  Tints like green allows more visible light and cut out infrared radiation.
4. Variations in the thickness of the glass would yield different performance
in terms of light and solar radiation transmission.
5. Although darker shades reduce the amount of heat being transmitted to
the interiors, they also reduce the amount of transmitted daylight.
6. reducing heat gain inside
7. reflecting solar heat energy
8. reducing heat gain inside
9. limiting ultraviolet light transmission through windows
10. minimum allowed percentage of visible light transmission (VLT) for
windows in private vehicles.
11. Silica is the essential material for glass manufacture, Silica requires a very
high temperature to melt.
12. High degree at light transimission.
13. It is an excellent electrical insulator.
14. It is strong and brittle.
15. It can be blown, drawn or pressed.
16. It is not affected by atmosphere.
17. It has excellent resistance to chemicals.
ADVANTAGES OF TINTED GLASS
1. It absorbs, refracts or transmits light. It can
be made transparent or translucent.
2. It can take excellent polish.
3. It is an excellent electrical insulator.
4. It is strong and brittle.
5. It can be blown, drawn or pressed.
6. It is not affected by atmosphere.
7. It has excellent resistance to chemicals.
8. It is available in various beautiful colours.
9. With the advancement in technology, it is
possible to make glass lighter than cork or
stronger than steel.
10. Glass panes can be cleaned easily.

6
PROPERTIES OF STAINED GLASS

1. Glass are translucent and opaque glass

2.Light Refraction : Light passes through the glass and is
refracted in different ways based on the refractive properties
of the glass.
2. Three refractive qualities of stained glass are Opacity,
Transparency and Translucence
3.High temperature to melt
