It is a process of evaluating an
employees’s performance of a job in
terms of its requirements.

MBO( MANAGEMENT BY OBJECTIVES)

This concept was described as a “process


where by the superior and subordinate,
managers of an organization jointly
identify its common goals and define
each individuals major areas of
responsibility in terms of results
expected of him”
BEHAVIORALLY ANCHORED RATING SCALES

These type scales are designed to bring


the benefits of both qualitative and
quantitative data to the employee
appraisal process . BARS compare an
individuals performance against
specific examples of behavior that are
anchored to numerical rating.
ASSESSMENT CENTERS

An assessment center is a central location


where the managers may come together to
participate in job related exercises
evaluated by trained observers. The
principle idea is to evaluate the managers
over a period of time by observing and
later evaluating their behaviour.
360 DEGREE APPRAISAL

In 360 degree appraisal system an employee


is appraised by his supervisor, subordinates,
peers and customers with whom he interacts
in the course of his job performance. All
these appraisers provide information or
feedback on an employee by completing
survey questanaires designed for this
purpose..
HUMAN RESOURCE
ACCOUNTING(HRA)
It is a modern method of performance
appraisal. HRA means to measure the
cost and value of people ( peoples are
employees and managers) in the
organisation. It measure the cost
incurred to recruit, hire, train and
develop the employees and managers.
