I am highly thankful to my Social Science teacher PRITI SHALINI who gave me the golden opportunity to do this wonderful project on the Topic “CONSUMER RIGHTS “ from where I learnt a lot . Secondly I am also thankful to my Parents who helped me a lot in finishing this project. Introduction The consumer movement Consumer r i g h t w i t h e x a m p l e Rol e o f c o nsumer f or ums a nd consumer c o u r t s Conclusion bibliography Consumer Awareness is an act of making sure the buyer is oraware ofconsumer information about projects goods , servicesand , rights . consumer Consumerso that buyer awareness is important can take the right decision and right choice. The Consumer Movement arouse out of dissatisfaction of consumers as many the unfair practices were being indulged in by the sellers . There was no legal system available to consumers to protect them from exploitation in the marketplace . The Consumer Movement is an effort to promote consumer protection through an organized social movement which is in many places led by consumer organizations . In , INDIA the consumer movement as a “SOCIAL FORCE” originated with necessity of protecting and promoting the interests of consumers against unethical and unfair trade practices . Rampant food shortages , hoarding , black marketing , adulteration of food and edible oil gave birth to the CONSUMER MOVEMENT in an organized form in the 1960s. The Consumer Right is “The right to have information about the qua lity , potency , quantity , purity , price , and standard of goods or services “. While using many goods and services , we as consumers , have the right to be protected against the marketing of goods and delivery of services that are hazardous to life and property . For Example….. Reji’s suffering shows how a hospital , due to negligence by the doctors and staff in giving anaesthesia , crippled a student for life. CONS UMER FORUMS : The Consumer Forums guide consumers on how to file cases in Consumer Courts . On many occasions , they also represent individual consumers in the consumer courts . These voluntary organisations also receive financial support from the government for creating awareness among the people. CONSUMER COURT : Consumer Court is a special purpose court in INDIA that deals with cases regarding consumer disputes , conf licts and grievances . They are judiciary hearings set up by the government to protect the consumer rights . Its main function is to maintain the fair practices and contracts by sellers . Consumer can file a case against a seller if they are cheated or exploited by sellers. I can conclude that very consumers are fully aware of the rights and consumer protection act . Hence it is necessary to educate them their rights as a consumer to make them vigilant , rational and aware buyers . The Government has been fruitful in providing protection to the consumer in the real sense of the term and served the purpose of the act. www.jagograhakjago.com https://ask.learncbse.in https://en.m.wikipedia.org https://brainly.in https://consumeraffairs.nic.in From – Nidhish Sahni 10 -A
