WATER

WATERPOLLUTION
POLLUTION

Water pollution is the contamination of water bodies (e.g.

lakes, rivers, oceans, aquifers and groundwater). This form
of environmental degradation occurs when pollutants are
directly or indirectly discharged into water bodies without
adequate treatment to remove harmful compounds.

Water pollution affects the entire biosphere – plants and

organisms living in these bodies of water. In almost all cases
the effect is damaging not only to individual species and
population, but also to the natural biological communities.
WATER A GIFT FOR US
Water is the greatest gift of nature. Humans have exploited this natural
resource to a level where controlling water pollution is impossible. Here
are some important reasons why water is considered as a precious
natural resource. The misuse of this can cause damaging consequences
and a threat to human life. Here is an interesting way to analyze how
water pollution is gradually causing so many deaths worldwide.
TOP 10 FACTS
Fact 1: The total volume of water available on Earth is about 1.4 billion km and about 70% of
the earth is covered in water.
Fact 2: The largest quantities of water are in the oceans.
Fact 3: Fresh water in the world is only 2.5% of the total water available on this planet. Make
sure the water you drink is clean with this water filter.
Fact 4: Around 70% of the industrial waste is dumped into the water bodies where they pollute
the usable water supply.
Fact 5: At least 320 million people in China do not have access to clean drinking water.
Fact 6: 20% of the groundwater in China is used as drinking water which is highly contaminated
with carcinogenic chemicals which cause high levels of water pollution.
Fact 7: Fourteen billion pounds of garbage mostly plastic, is dumped into the ocean every year.
Fact 8: The nuclear crisis that occurred in Japan after 2011 Tsunami prompted Japanese
government dumped 11 million liters (2 million gallons) of radioactive water into the Pacific
Ocean.
Fact 9: 15 million children under the age of five die each year because of diseases caused by
drinking water.
Fact 10: The Ganges river in India is one the most polluted in the world. It contain sewage, trash,
food, and animal remains.
WATER CAUSE FOR OUR DIE
Water pollution is one of the factors that are causing deaths breath-numbers
of people and not only, but also animals.Water is considered as one of the
causes of death on people. How many people die every day from this
because none of us can not think but this and many researchers thought that
the numbers were worlwide numbers. They said that every day die about 5 in
children under age 5 in India from water pollution and for this cause are
themselves in these number were only for people under 5, but the number of
animals that die every day in the waters of seas and oceans, lakes, rivers
other is much greater.
HORRIBLE!!!
• All these thing happen by us! We are responsibles for many die that
happen. No just people but everyday die a record number of animals!
Water pollution isn’t
problem just for us but
and for animals!

-More Than a Million Sea Birds

and Mammals Are Killed Each Year
By Ingestion of Plastic
Around 100 million tons of plastic is
produced every year, of which 1o
percent ends up in the sea. Ocean
litter comes from many sources,
including trash that washes off city
streets, waste blown in from landfills
and containers that fall off ships
during heavy storms. Once in the
water, the debris accumulates in
large patches, travels with currents
and washes up onshore. This litter is
frequently consumed, often with fatal
effects, by marine mammals, fish and
birds who mistake it for food. The
Trash Vortex of the North Pacific
ocean consists of trillions of pieces
of decomposing plastic that forms a
gigantic swirling garbage patch the
size of Texas.
WATER POLLUTION IN ALBANIA

Water pollution in Albania is mainly caused by

disposal of trash, and discharge of untreated
wastewater and sewage. Two rivers which pass
through the capital, Tirana, are two of the most
polluted rivers in Albania. Lana and Tirana
River are clean at their source, but once they enter
Tirana, their water is several times more polluted
than allowed standards.Industrial pollution of rivers
has been observed in the rivers Shkumbini, Fani,
Gjanika and Semani, where toxic organic compounds
and metals from mining and industrial activity are
heavily affecting these rivers.
