How do I know if my OFA strategies are effective?

 Improvement in student engagement

 Indicators of engagement?
 Asking questions, participating in meaningful discussions,
attending classes regularly, completing tasks on time, ??
 Improvement in performance
 Indicators of performance?
 Samples of performance through a variety of methods
 Use of application-based tasks
 Leading to better performance in summative assessments
 Report of less difficulty, less errors, faster response, ???
 Can you go wrong even if student engagement and
performance are improving?

 Better digital tool? Better pedagogic technique? Better

materials?
What do I do if they are not effective?

 Go back to the checklist and ask questions

 Is it valid: assessing what it is supposed to assess, example?
 Is it accessible: you and students can afford and use it, example?
 Do students receive feedforward: example?
 Is it engaging?
Resolving the issue

 Problem with the assessment method or the tool? (Handout 2)

 High chance with assessment method, low with digital tools
How do I improve my OFA ability?

 Knowing what you need to know (Handout 3)

 How I can know what I need to know: reading, watching
videos, being part of online communities and participating in
discussions, asking questions to experts (I believe this is the
best way), talking to colleagues and collaborating with them
