Early Life
Born: June 1, 1863
German-American psychologist and philosopher
1885: earned his PH. D at University of Leipzig
1887: earned his M.D. at the University of Heidelberg
1892: came to Harvard as a visiting professor.
1897: acquired full professorship at Harvard University.

Father of industrial/organizational psychology.

 Munsterbeg believed that industry can be
benefited by psychologists in three major areas:

Behaviorism
Seeking modern ways to hire the right person for
Movement the right job.
in Management
Achieving optimum efficiency by identifying

psychological conditions.
Finding methods to direct the behavior of
individual employees to be in harmony with the
management’s objectives.
