SUMMARY OF
THE PLOT
Exposition
The film tells the story about a 10-year-old girl named Anna. One day, Anna started
vomiting but the doctor examined her and did not find anything abnormal even
though Anna had undergone several tests. The condition of that little girl was only
getting worse until her mother, Christy, forced the doctor to do a re-examination
because she knew something was wrong with her beloved daughter.

Rising Action
Anna has been diagnosed with abdominal obstruction
and must be treated immediately. After the emergency
surgery was performed, the doctor explained that Anna
had a pseudo-obstruction motility disorder and told
about America's leading pediatric gastroenterologist,
Dr. Samuel Nurko but he was very busy and had a lot
of patients.

Climax
Christy begins to lose faith, because of what happened to her daughter all of a
sudden. Christy took Anna to Boston despite not having an appointment with Doctor
Nurko. After a few things happened, Dr. Nurko agrees to meet with Anna even
though they are still on the waiting list. After that, Anna often went to Boston for
treatment.

Falling Action
One day Anna, with her sister Abbie, climbed a very tall
old tree. While they were on the branch, suddenly it began
to break. Abbie told Anna to walk to the end of the branch
but as Anna stepped on it, she fell 30 feet from the hole in
the tree. Christy desperately began to pray for her
daughter. After a few hours, Anna was released by
firefighters. At the hospital, the doctor said apart from a
slight tremor, Anna was fine.

Denouement

After the incident, Christy realized that Anna was more energetic and
healthy than before. After undergoing a treatment appointment in
Boston, Dr. Nurko concludes that, miraculously Anna has recovered.
Anna then tells her parents what she went through during the
incident she fell from the tree. Anna describes how her soul left her
body, and God promised that she would be healed of her disease
when she returned to Earth.

This film that directed by Patricia Riggen is based on the Miracles

from Heaven by Christy Beam, which tells the true story about her
daughter (Anna) who has an incurable disease but it all changes in the
blink of an eye after an incident.

This is a great movie where it reminds us that one should not give up.
I would definitely recommend this heartwarming film as well as it is
an inspiration from a true story.
