On average, it has been reported that each wind turbine currently

requires a distance of approximately 300 feet between them.

Offshore wind turbines are built up to 8 MW today and

have a blade length up to 80 meters (260 ft). Designs
with 10 to 12 MW were in preparation in 2018, and a
"15 MW+" prototype with three 118 meters (387 ft)
blades is planned to be constructed in 2022.
TYPES OF OFFSHORE WIND TURBINES
 3 Types :-
1. Tension Leg Platform (TLP),
2. Semi-submersible (Semi-sub),
3. Spar Buoy (Spar).

TENSION LEG PLATFORM:- It is a vertically moored floating structure normally used for the offshore
production of oil or gas, and is particularly suited for water depths greater than 300 metres and less
than 1500 metres.

TYPES
. OF OFFSHORE WIND TURBINES
Semi-submersible (Semi-sub) :- It is a specialised marine vessel used in offshore roles
including as offshore drilling rigs, safety vessels, oil production platforms, and heavy lift
cranes. They have good ship stability and seakeeping, better than drillships.

 Spar Buoy (Spar):- A spar buoy is a tall, thin buoy that floats upright in the water and is
characterized by a small water plane area and a large mass. ... Spar buoys are often used as
stable platforms for wave measurement devices and air–sea interaction measurements.
