CASH CROPS

A crop is grown for sale is called Cash Crop. This is because the farmer who sells
the crop receive cash, means from a person who buys it. Cash Crops are
agricultural crops that are planted for the purpose of selling on market or to export
to make profit. Examples: Cotton, Sugar cane and cocae, etc.
SHORT HISTORY ON CASH CROPS

When our ancestors first learned about agriculture, they grew wheat, rice, or
potatoes - depending on what part of the world they were in. It wasn't long before
farmers realized they could grow a lot more food than they actually needed.
Surplus was bartered for pottery or some other craft, maybe even initiating the
first economies. Extra crops (cash crops) also meant that craftsmen didn't need to
be farmers or worry about getting their own food. Cash crops enabled the first
governments, too, because they allowed many people to live in a small area
together without everyone needing to worry about getting food.
THREE MAIN CASH CROPS REGIONS

 In tropic, farmers grew jute, cotton, sugarcane, orange, cocae, coffee, mangoes,
bananas, papayas, and other tropical fruit.

 The subtropics includes some tropical area plants plus grain crops such as millet, rice
and oil-yielding crops. Framers also grew some types of herbs and vegetables.

 The temperature regions include oats. Wheat, corn, rye, barley, apples, pears, cherries,
strawberries, rust berries, blueberries and several types of vegetables.
