OUR IDEA
• Although powered electric models have flown since 1970 and have
since developed in uavs until 21st century , most electric manned
aircraft today are still demonstrators.

CONSIDERATIONS
• Some general aviation aircrafts use untampered horizontal tail to reduce
manufacturing costs. [RAYMER-1992]
• A lower aspect ratio is desired in empennage as compared to that of wing. The reason
being deflection of elevator and raddar creates large bending moment and a lower
aspect ratio restrains considerable ammount of bending moment. [SADREY-2012]
• In a single engine propeller driven aircraft , it is recommended to have aspect ratio
such that tail span is higher than that of propeller diameter. This provision ensures
that tail gets fresh and clean air to optimise efficiency. [SADREY 2012]
• The tail taper ratio is recommended to taken smaller than wing taper ratio. [SADREY-
2012]
• A moderate tapper is generally choosen to reduce structural weight. [TORENBEEK-
1982]
Wing loading 55.16 kg/m2 is adapted as per market probe chart which may vary in preliminary design phase.
AR = 13 is adapted to consolidate high aspect ration for efficient and high endurance flight.
