Introduction
Following implementation was finalized-

S.No. Compensation Size

1 Dynamic Compensation + 2 x 100 MVar
(STATCOM)
2 Mechanically Switched 2 x 125 MVar
Compensation(Reactor)
3 Mechanically Switched 2 x 125 Mvar
Compensation (Capacitor)

Coupling Transformer

 There are four identical single phase transformer

connected in YNd-11 vector group forming voltage
level 400/32kV three phase transformer with pu
impedance 24%.
 The MVA rating of each is169 MVA with ONAF2 and
135.2MVA with ONAF1 and 101.4MVA with ONAN.
 One transformer is in hot stand by

11
Erection of STATCOM Reactor

• There are two bays of STATCOM

which provide dynamic
compensation of 200MVar.
• The rating of each reactor is
8.8mH.
• These reactors are connected in
delta configuration with the
STATCOM valve.

30
WATER COOLING SYSTEM
1. Monitoring of water leakage.
2. Cleaning of Radiator filters as
required.
3. Monitoring of water level.
4. Conductivity monitoring and
replacement of Resins for
maintaining the conductivity.

Thermovision Scanning

1. Since the rated current of bus is

around 9000A
2. Thermovision scanning are done
on monthly basis.
3. If any hotspots are found, they
are attended to ensure
reliability.
