Silvio Rodriguez, Cuban musician is my favorite artist.
not only mine, all of my family are fans too.  The like for Silvio 
comes from my parents. My mother grew up listening
 his songs, My Father remember that in his student
days was a true symbol of resistance.
He is a controversial artist. If you achieve to break
the prejudice you can find the poetry in his art. A
combination that seldom occurs an exquisite lyric and
exceptional music.
He is not only a musician, he is a poet 
He speaks to the most important aspects of life  and  do it with
a philosophical perspective ,who feels identified can not
leave become a fan.
 He is one of the most solid figures
of Cuban popular music in all its history ,and he belongs to ‘Nueva’
Trova’movement.
His extensive production collected of music has been in many
albums, characterized by  rythmic , harmonic and melodic songs, as
well as the quality of their texts. Part of it has been a political
supporting for the Cuban revolutionary process.
Silvio also works in other areas such as:
intimate political aspects (he is congresist), in addition to its vast
work of human nature and love of the everyday, the philosophical,
humorous.
His style has exerted a huge influence on many songwriters.

the return to the democracy,
after having been prohibited from entering to
Chile during the dictatorship.

activity of Silvio Rodriguez was the presentation in
the second version of the concert sponsored
by Juanes, ’Paz sin fronteras’, with other
popular artists of the artistic business.

 Biography
He was born on November
29, 1946 in ‘San Antonio de los
Baños, Cuba.
He grew up in a poor
farming family,
his father, Víctor Rodríguez , 
was a farmer and amateur
poet,
his mother, Algeria Domín-
guez, dedicated to house-work.
His musical vocation comes fro
m the inclination that his
mother had for singing.

He received
piano lessons since small .

Young Silvio worked as
a literacy
teacher and cartoonist.
besides he started to
learn guitar
 In 1964 started the Mandatory Military
Service.
In the decade of 70 begins to
create songs, performs recitals
and participates in TV shows.
Afterwards he enrolled in the
 fishing boat Playa Giron, 
and for 5 months sailing
 across the Atlantic and the
African Coast.
In 1975, when he had eight years of work ,
makes his first solo album, 'Days and Flowers'
