Introduction

• Risk Assessment : A tool for improving safety


and health at the workplace and thus reduce
the impact to the surrounding.
Aims
• An overview of health at work
• Describe the trends and underlying factors
• Describe the risk factors
• Anticipation of changes in work and their likely
consequences on health.
• Draw attention on new and emerging risks and enable
to set up preventive action .
• Identify technological innovation for improved
control.
Methodology
• Beyond the collection of hard data, based on expert
forecast and research reviews ,apart from information
collected by control bodies.
• Risk assessment:
-Surveillance of major hazardous enterprises (using
hazardous chemicals)
-Surveillance of major hazardous activities(processing
of metals,equipment and machines;chemical and
chemical products;leather processing;
pharamaceutical and bulk drug industries)
• Technological upgradation and control.

• Collection of data regarding the violations,


with failure to carry out risk assessment.

• Conclusions emerged from the inspections.

Information is collected on the affected individual ,
employment status of the victim and days lost.
– Occupational diseases
Detailed information on the causative agent of the
occupational diseases and collection of
information on the use purpose of these causative
agents
– Exposure registers
An exposure register records data relevant to
occupational health and safety outcomes.
- Inspections
The medical inspections carried out by the
inspectorate play an essential role in ensuring that
laws and regulations governing workers’ health
surveillance are properly applied.
Dissemination of information arising out of the
above study to all concerned.
