1) Provide an overview of workplace health trends, risks, and emerging issues through data collection and expert analysis.
2) Identify high-risk industries and activities for surveillance of occupational hazards and technological innovations for improved safety controls.
3) Draw conclusions from inspections to enforce risk assessment and prevent violations in order to reduce workplace accidents and diseases.

Methodology • Beyond the collection of hard data, based on expert forecast and research reviews ,apart from information collected by control bodies. • Risk assessment: -Surveillance of major hazardous enterprises (using hazardous chemicals) -Surveillance of major hazardous activities(processing of metals,equipment and machines;chemical and chemical products;leather processing; pharamaceutical and bulk drug industries) • Technological upgradation and control.

Administrative data sources Administrative data sources – Accidents at work Information is collected on the affected individual , employment status of the victim and days lost. – Occupational diseases Detailed information on the causative agent of the occupational diseases and collection of information on the use purpose of these causative agents – Exposure registers An exposure register records data relevant to occupational health and safety outcomes. - Inspections The medical inspections carried out by the inspectorate play an essential role in ensuring that laws and regulations governing workers’ health surveillance are properly applied. Dissemination of information arising out of the above study to all concerned.
