STRESS

• Living in today’s world has brought with it, not only


innumerable means of comfort, but also a plethora of
demands that tax human body and mind.
• Now-a-days everyone talks about stress at work and at
home.
• Stress is an inevitable and unavoidable component of life
due to increasing complexities and competitiveness in
living standards.
JOB STRESS

• Occupational stress / job stress is becoming the single


greatest cause of occupational disease and can have adverse
consequences for both the worker and the workplace.
• Job stress or work stress is defined as the response people
may have when presented with work demands and
pressures that are not matched with their knowledge and
abilities and which challenge their ability to cope with the
situations.
STRESS MANAGEMENT

• Stress management is a wide spectrum of techniques and


psychotherapies aimed at controlling a person's level of
stress, especially chronic stress, usually for the purpose of
and for the motive of improving everyday functioning.
• Stress produces numerous physical and mental symptoms
which vary according to each individual's situational
factors. These can include a decline in physical health as
well as depression. The process of stress management is
named as one of the keys to a happy and successful life in
modern society.
INTRODUCTION

• Tata steel established in 1907, Asia’s first and India’s largest

multinational company, with it’s headquarter and core
operations in India.

fifty countries. Major steel making operations are in

concept, utilizing raw material like iron ore, coal, limestone
etc. to produce hot Metal. This hot metal is converted into
steel thought a steel- making process. This liquid steel is
then cast and rolled into a variety of product.

Conclusion

We found that existence of work stress in and of it self need not


employ lower performance. The evidence indicates that stress can
be either a positive or a negative influence on employee
performance. For many people, low to moderate amounts of
stress enable them to perform their jobs better, by Increasing their
work intensity, alertness and ability to react.
